Dr. Michael Redmond

Michael is the Joint Managerial Body (JMB) Assistant General Secretary for Research, Development, and Training. He was appointed as Director of Research and Development in September 2009 and was subsequently appointed Assistant General Secretary in 2022. His key responsibilities include the efficient and effective leadership and management of key
education, research, training, and professional development functions of the Secretariat of Secondary Schools and having shared responsibility for achieving the strategic goals and operational objectives of the organisation as set out in the current strategic development plan.

Michael also works on behalf of the Secretariat in a wide variety of educational areas including special educational needs, curriculum development, intercultural education, inclusion, disadvantage initiatives and ICT in schools.

Michael is a current Deputy Chairperson of the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment.
