Dr. Michael Redmond

Michael works as the Assistant General Secretary for Research, Development, and Training in the Joint Managerial Body (JBM) – The Secretariat of Secondary Schools. The JMB works to assist school leaders in voluntary secondary schools in Ireland.   
His key responsibilities include: 

– Managing the education, research, training, and professional development functions of the JMB 
– Achieving the strategic goals and operational objectives as set out in the strategic development plan 

Michael also works on behalf of the JBM in a variety of educational areas including: 
– Special educational needs   
– Curriculum development 
– Intercultural education 
– Inclusion 
– Disadvantage initiatives 
– ICT in schools 

He was appointed Director of Research and Development in September 2009 and was  appointed Assistant General Secretary in 2022. 

Michael is also a Deputy Chairperson of the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment.
