 We play a key role in advancing research in special education.  
 
Our research programme aims to strengthen knowledge and understanding of best practice in educational policy and provision for students with special educational needs.  
 
This research helps to inform and improve educational provision across Ireland.

We provide advice to the Minister for Education and Youth on special education for students and young adults. Our advice is expert-led, independent and evidence-informed.
