What is the School Portal?
The NCSE School Portal is an online application portal where a school leader can apply for a range of services.
Using the School Portal, you can:
Apply for teacher professional learning
Request a review of resources in mainstream schools

One school – one account – one email address
Each school can have only one account which must be linked with a single email address. We will use this email address for all contact with the school through the School Portal.

School TPL Support stands for Teacher Professional Learning (TPL). It aims to improve teaching practices and outcomes for students with special educational needs.

Special School Curriculum Support
The NCSE supports all special schools with the enactment (gradual introduction) of the Primary School Curriculum at national level.

Irish Sign Language Advisor Support
Schools with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing and who use ISL may be eligible for support from the NCSE’s ISL Advisor service. This support helps schools build whole‑school confidence and capacity in ISL so students can access learning.

SNA Review
An SNA Review is a formal process of reviewing SNA allocations in schools.
There are two types of SNA Reviews:
– The school can request it during the application window
– The NCSE can lead the review

With an SNA Appeal, a school can formally challenge the decision of an SNA Review.

Special Education Teacher Review
If a school is clearly unable to meet the needs of the full group of children and young people, a SET review can take place.
This process is used when unique circumstances may present in a school which could require an urgent review. These circumstances must have had a significant impact on the school.
